Oyster Chair
Our unparalleled ability to mold wood has allowed us to create this mid-sized lounge chair which is shaped to the human form. Every curve, angle, and nuance of the chair is sympathetic to the comfort of the Oyster’s occupant. Designed (2020), developed, and built from raw materials at our California factory. The four pieces of molded wood lock together, forming an extremely strong and sculptural lounge chair. Each chair is hand finished, and can be touched up with beeswax to increase its luster.

Four pieces, locked together.
The chair is built from four molded plywood components, a seat, a backrest, and two legs, joined with brass hardware that holds the structure together without interrupting its form. The result is a chair that reads as one continuous shape, strong enough to hold its own without additional framing.
Optional leather seat pad.
For those who want a touch of added comfort, the Oyster chair is available with an optional seat pad, fitted to its molded form without disrupting the silhouette. A simple addition that softens the seat while leaving the sculpture beneath fully visible.

Our wood veneer pieces are available in three options, maple, walnut, or rosewood, with the selection specific to each design. Each veneer carries its own distinct surface, from maple’s lightness to walnut’s warmth to rosewood’s deep red tones. Every piece is FSC-certified and built by hand in our Los Angeles factory, to one standard of craftsmanship.
