The bench is constructed from twenty-six layers of North American hardwood, a process that builds strength and resilience from the inside out. Available in North American maple or walnut veneer, each surface is finished to draw out the natural grain without interference. A bench that is as solid as it looks, and more so than it appears.
T-shaped mortise and tenon joint.
The strength of the Tenon Bench lies in its joinery. Modernica’s own T-shaped internal mortise and tenon joint connects each component with precision and permanence, requiring no additional hardware. Each leg is hand-fitted in traditional woodworking fashion for an exact fit, and is removable for easy shipping or storage.
