Alpine Chair
The sculptural form of the Alpine Chair is created by molding layers of North American hardwoods and bonding them into a unified structure. The chair features rich outer layers of walnut or maple veneer with maple inner ply, and is finished with a supple sheen. The Rosewood veneer, also known as Santos Rosewood, features a fine grain and takes a high polish. The result is a dining chair that offers exceptional comfort and impressive strength in a simple, fluid design. Designed, developed, and created at Modernica.

Molded plywood.
Machine molded under pressure and finished by hand, the layered maple ply gives the seat and backrest their strength and form in a single process. The outer layer is finished in maple, walnut, or rosewood veneer, its grain wrapping the sculpted form without seam or interruption.
A seat shaped by curve.
The seat is molded from a single curved form, paired with a separate backrest and supported by tapered solid wood legs. Together, they bring the Alpine Collection’s sculptural language to a lighter, more traditional dining chair structure.

Each veneer carries its own distinct surface, from maple’s lightness to walnut’s warmth to rosewood’s deep red tones. Every piece is FSC-certified and built by hand in our Los Angeles factory, to one standard of craftsmanship.
