Futura2000

Following the release of the FUTURA2000 x Alchemist Art Café collaboration, Modernica continues their on-going partnership with FUTURA2000, pushing the envelope this time with the creation of a new, full-fledged Artist Series Collection. The limited collection features some of Modernica's iconic designs, such as the Upholstered Fiberglass Arm Chair, V-Leg Daybed, as well as the introduction of a custom Case Study 210 Storage Unit, a Case Study Ceramic featuring Futura-embedded artwork, and a 3-piece, magnetic Fiberglass Coffee Table. Each item in this collection is individually numbered (ranging from 25-50 pieces), and features a FUTURA2000 plaque of authenticity. This is the first formal presentation of a new series of dynamic artist capsules from Modernica’s studio—curated in partnership with ICNCLST/.

With designs inspired from Futura's studio, the 210 Storage Unit was created to house spray cans & tools needed in his creative process. The unit features a basket style top shelf and added casters -- making the unit perfect for small studio spaces, or near a drafting table or desk space.

As atoms naturally separate and combine in nature, the FUTURA2000 x Modernica Coffee Table is also designed both in a graphic application and functional combination—it too is designed to transform, adapt, and evolve. The 3-piece coffee table is constructed of a Fiberglass-embedded top with maple veneer ply, and finished with solid maple legs. The table features magnets on the inside edge to hold all three sections together.

A portion of proceeds from this collection will benefit Free Arts NYC—a charitable organization empowering underserved youth of New York City through art and mentorship to develop creativity, confidence, and skills to succeed.
