Originally designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1960 for the Time Life Building in New York, this sculptural “B”-shaped stool is one of three iconic silhouettes that have become timeless symbols of mid-century design. This particular piece is an early reissue from the 1990s, restored by Modernica’s woodshop with meticulous hand-finishing that further enhances the depth and character of its solid walnut construction. Unlike contemporary versions, this stool features richly figured walnut. The grain is expressive, the tone warm and luminous, and the patina deepened through age and careful restoration. Still in production today, the Time Life Stool is often replicated, but few compare to the quality of this vintage reissue. Both functional and sculptural, it can be used as a seat or side table, making it a versatile heirloom piece for any interior.
