Eames / Evans DCW
Regular price $2,000.00
This vintage DCW molded plywood dining chair is more than a collectible—it's a relic of American design and industrial history. Originally purchased by the American Potash and Chemical Company, headquartered at 6th and Virgil in Los Angeles, this chair was used for decades since its immediate post-war acquisition.
Unlike many vintage pieces that have been restored or stripped of their history, this chair retains its original shock mounts, hardware, and the early Evans/Herman Miller/Eames paper label, which was only issued between 1946 and 1947. Even more remarkably, it still bears the original inventory tag from the American Potash and Chemical Company, preserving an unbroken chain of provenance.
While not restored, its finish has been renewed and touched up over the decades as part of its working life—subtle marks and a soft patina speak to its utilitarian history, rather than erasing it. It wears its many years of service proudly, making it not only rare but exceptionally honest.
This is not just a chair. It's a piece of Los Angeles’ industrial legacy and a fully authentic example of Eames’ early production era—uncompromised, and unusually complete.
