ABOUT MODERNICA
In our fourth decade, Modernica's collective of skilled craftspeople has been meticulously building each piece of furniture at our five-acre campus in Los Angeles. Home to a world-class upholstery, wood, and composites shops, Modernica ensures exceptional quality and attention to detail in every creation.
FIBERGLASS
Modernica is responsible for revitalizing the almost lost art of high-pressure fiberglass molding. Our factory is home to the historic fiberglass presses, and specialized machinery that has been used in the production of hundreds of thousands of chairs for over half of a century. Since 1999, Modernica has steadfastly produced the chairs as they were originally created, preserving fiberglass chair legacy and craft.
WOOD SHOP
For 30 years, Modernica has proudly built each piece of furniture, one-by-one, at its five-acre campus in Los Angeles. It has been family owned and operated since it opened and is home to a world-class upholstery and woodshop.
UPHOLSTERY
Setting the gold standard for comfort, Modernica upholstery is produced entirely in our Los Angeles factory, using the traditional construction methods. The Modernica upholstery team has produced, this iconic Scandinavian design for over two decades. With a selection of over 30 fabric choices, we are sure you will find the chair that’s just right for you.
CERAMICS
The Case Study Ceramics® series is inspired by the prolific period in architecture and home furnishing designs immediately following WW2. All of our Case Study Ceramics® are high fired, hand-made, using a jiggering tool for shaping, and are finished on a potters wheel. None of our ceramics are slip cast molded.
