30 Years of Modernica

Last Friday, we invited loyal customers, friends, and family to join us for Modernica 30: an unprecedented open house event at the original seven-acre Modernica factory grounds to celebrate Modernica’s 30 years of quality furniture craftsmanship. 

150 guests from across the Los Angeles community took a walk through a real house setting at our famous Spanish House to see our furniture in action, along with a tour of the factory to explore the process behind the handiwork.

On the tour, they roamed every step of the seamless collaboration of handcrafting and custom machinery work that goes into creating every piece of Modernica furniture, including our fiberglass chair made on original 1950s fiberglass machinery.

As we walked the premise, we had the chance to see new collection prototypes, unreleased to the public, as well as our Fiberglass Chair Bar and streetwear branded artwork. Visitors mingled, potted Case Study Ceramics with succulents styled by our good friend Amelia at Birch and Bone, and more.

It was a time for customer and business owner appreciation alike, and for Modernica to really embrace the family culture that started it all.

And, of course, it wouldn’t have been a bona fide LA event without tacos, fresh fruit, and paletas, so you can bet we had vendors for those, too.
