見た目は軽いのに信じられないほど丈夫なグラスホッパー チェアとオットマンは、1946 年にエーロ サーリネンによってデザインされました。この象徴的なデザインを制作して 30 年が経ちますが、それぞれの作品はさまざまな生地のオプションと 2 つの木材のオプションでオーダーメイドで作られています。腕と脚は、北米産のハードロック メープルの 12 層から成型されています。上層と下層のベニヤは、クリアコートが施された北米産ウォールナット突板、またはクリアコートまたはクラシックな色合いが施された北米産ハードロックメープルです。米国製の高密度フォームです。

One of Saarinen’s earliest works, the Grasshopper Chair set the stage for the sculptural lounge seating that would define his career. Despite its lean, angled silhouette, the chair offers ample lumbar support and enough recline to ease into relaxation, comfort built into a form that looks like it shouldn’t need it.
Molded maple, two wood finishes.
The arms and legs are molded from twelve layers of North American hard rock maple, finished in walnut veneer with a clear coat, or maple veneer in a natural or classic tint.
