Inspired by the sofa designs of Vladimir Kagan and Isamu Noguchi, in 1993 Modernica Studios created the Cloud Series. Created with the intent to be organic and not decorative. The concept behind the design was to provide clients with uninterrupted wall space, while the curvilinear lines of the sofa act as connections between elements in a room.
Handcrafted by our master builders, each piece is meticulously upholstered with a 12° angled edge, which runs a complete 360° around. This continous angle visually uplifts and gives the impression of floating —like a cloud.
Each Cloud piece is upholstered by hand. Individual steel springs are hand-tied and sewn into a base of canvas webbing. The springs are slightly compressed and covered with successive layers of burlap, cotton padding, and fabric.The cushions are made from high-density foam and cotton.
The Cloud series is built to provide a truly luxurious comfortable seat and provide firm lumbar support for your back. On must really sit on a Cloud to appreciate its exceptional comfort, solid construction, and firm support.
