In 1950 Charles and Ray Eames designed a system of modular furniture that made no apology for their industrial attributes. Constructed of plywood, lacquered Masonite, and plated-steel framing. These pieces were designed in an effort to produce economical household and office furniture using industrial production techniques.
Charles and Ray Eames’s uncompromisingly progressive designs was lauded by designers and architects of the time, but not readily embraced by a post-war general public. Herman Miller manufactured and marketed the furniture in 1950, and soon ended their production in 1955.
Modernica has been building Case Study Desks since 1987. Being at the forefront of rediscovering and relaunching iconoclastic designs, such as the Eames Desks. Modernica follows strict adherence's to the original design in regards to dimensions, frame construction, and materials.
